Workplace Meditation

We probably experience a meditative state several times each day when we are completely immersed in a book, a film. or a task, totally focused in the moment, without realising it. This element of mindfulness is fundamental to a formal meditation practice.

Meditation, in one form or another, has been practised all over the world, from ancient times, with its basis in religion. However, the meditation sessions I offer, both in person and online, has no affiliation to any religion. It is characterised by (usually) sitting quietly, focusing on your breath, an object, a thought or a sound for a period of time. The aim is to achieve a state of calm, relax the mind, while achieving clearer focus and mental alertness.

There are many types of meditation practice, and there is a great deal of information available on the internet; so much so that it can be quite confusing trying to decide which type is best for you, especially if you are new to the practice, or are thinking of trying it for the first time. Regardless of the type of meditation, research has shown that meditation offers a number of benefits. It can help

  • reduce anxiety
  • alleviate negative effects of stress
  • improve concentration
  • regulate mood
  • improve sleep
  • increase self-awareness

Meditation workshops

We offer meditation workshops in workplaces to suit all levels - from complete novice to the experienced meditator. The details below will let you decide which session may suit you the best.

Guided Imagery  Meditation

This meditation is ideal if you are new to meditation, or even if you have been meditating for some time. You simply follow my instructions in imagining an object or a scene, becoming totally immersed in it. Alternatively, it can simply involve folcusing on your breath and imagining it flowing to various parts of your body.

Body Scan Meditation

This meditation is often regarded as an introduction to mindfulness meditation practice. It involves your 'tuning in' to your body, and the various feelings and sensations you may be experiencing. This meditation is more suitable for those who have been meditating for some time.

Third Eye Chakra Meditation

This is an advanced level meditation focused on 'opening' your sixth chakra  located in your forehead, which governs your intellect and imagination.
